As an artist blacksmith I love to use the medium of hot forged metal to create forms that portray a sense of tension and balance. I use steel to emulate the effects of fabric and leather, giving my work a tactile softness that stands in contrast to its natural rigidity.

I aim to create a feeling of elegance in my work through the use of straight lines, clean tapers, and smooth curves. The connections that I use are simple and strong, becoming a focal point instead of hidden away.

Having graduated from the Artist Blacksmithing degree at Hereford College of Arts, I have built a workshop in the Lancashire village of Warton, from which I will continue to explore the fantastic medium that is steel.
